Federal Judges Seek Earnings 'Catch-Up'

POIPU, Hawaii - It's tough to have sympathy for federal judges seeking a 16.5 percent hike in their $150,000 a year salaries during a conference at a Hawaiian resort with a swimming pool the size of the 14th fairway at Pebble Beach Golf Course.

Federal judges
don't see their request for a 15.5 percent wage hike as a raise but rather a catch-up for all the years they went without a cost-of-living adjustment. Page 3.
