Dealing with documents causes headaches at defunct law firms

One of the less glamorous but crucial tasks for bankrupt law firms is passing off or storing client documents, which can be expensive and time-consuming.

Earlier this summer, a forklift accident at a Maryland warehouse caused the roof to collapse, burying many thousands of documents stored by a Georgia-based records management company.


Those documents included approximately 60,000 boxes of Howrey LLP client files, which in an instant became extraordinarily difficult to reach.
