DLA Piper attorneys’ pro bono work takes them to South America
This summer, a team of seven DLA Piper attorneys traveled to Guyana to help modernize the country’s justice sector. The project was a follow-up to a series of training workshops the firm provided to Guyanese magistrates and prosecutors last year as part of the Guyanese government’s efforts to reform its judicial system. The DLA Piper team was invited back by Guyana’s Chancellor of the Judiciary, Carl Singh, to educate the 19 magistrate judges about issues such as domestic violence, juvenile justice and fraud issues.
