Bill barring GPS surveillance passes Senate

A bill introduced by state Sen. Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, to prevent warrantless surveillance of people through GPS-enabled devices was passed by the state Assembly Wednesday.

A bill introduced by state Sen. Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, to prevent warrantless surveillance of people through GPS-enabled devices, such as cell phones, was passed by the state Assembly Wednesday, according to a news release from Leno's office.
