A one-time doubter of mediation's value, Charles R. Hayes now maintains his own ADR practice.

SAN DIEGO - Charles R. Hayes wasn't always a believer in mediation.


His mind changed while he was a San Diego County Superior Court judge.


In 2000, Hayes co-chaired the court's ADR committee, which developed what he called a "resoundingly successful" mediation pilot project that became the court's present day mediation program.
