Shock Waves of Terror Ripple Through L.A.

LOS ANGELES - Downtown Los Angeles became a ghost town Tuesday morning, a sign that the world we thought we knew is gone forever. In the wake of the morning's bold, surprise terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, city and federal buildings in the Civic Center shut down. Workers in their cars streamed out of underground garages and headed for home.
