City Prevails in Mobile Home Suit

SAN DIEGO - The city of Santee has initially prevailed in a lawsuit by one of the largest owners of mobile home parks in the United States. San Diego Superior Court Judge Kevin Enright tentatively ruled that MHC Inc. did not suffer economic damages from Santee's mobile rent control ordinance, which applies to 14 parks located in the city. MHC was trying to recover $26 million from the city based on its enforcement of the ordinance.
