Milberg Lead Plaintiff Gets No Jail Time Because of Illness, Age
LOS ANGELES - Seymour Lazar, the first person charged in the criminal investigation of Milberg Weiss, narrowly escaped a prison sentence Monday because a federal judge took his health and age into consideration. U.S. District Judge John F. Walter said he was inclined to impose prison time on the 80-year-old Lazar, even though federal prosecutors did not recommend it, because the crimes at issue were so serious.
