Justices Deny Expert Fees to Lawyers
SAN FRANCISCO - Public-interest attorneys may not be able to recover expert-witness fees without a change in the law, California Supreme Court justices suggested Wednesday. Numerous nonprofit organizations have urged the high court to allow expert-witness fees when lawyers acting as private attorneys general bring successful lawsuits.
