N.Y. Lawyer Pays the Pipers for Mouthing Off to Supreme Court
U.S. Supreme Court Column: WASHINGTON - If lawyers want to know how to tick off the Supreme Court justices, they should ask Flushing, N.Y., attorney Teddy I. Moore. In a highly unusual move April 17, the justices - sua sponte - suspended Moore from practice before the court and ordered him to show cause why he should not be disbarred. While the justices regularly disbar lawyers after being notified that they have been disbarred by state authorities, it is extremely rare for the court to reach out to slap someone down.
