Court: Credible Kids' Hearsay Can Be Offered

SAN FRANCISCO - In a case with big consequences for dependency hearings involving very young children, the California Supreme Court ruled Monday that out-of-court statements by such children can serve as evidence as long as they are believable, even if the child is too young to be a competent witness.
