Exxon Valdez Battle Reaches Supreme Court

WASHINGTON - Extending the long-running legal battle over the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill, the U.S. Supreme Court announced Monday it will have a say on the $2.5 billion in punitive damages awarded to fishermen and other Alaskans who suffered economic harm from the massive environmental disaster.
