Hypocrisy Is Not a Crime: The Prosecution of John Edwards

If John Edwards did not campaign as a "family man," would he be under indictment now?

All crimes should be wrongs. But not all wrongs should be crimes. The prosecution of John Edwards is an attempt to turn his otherwise lawful hypocrisy into a crime. If successful, the expansive interpretation of campaign finance law offered by the Justice Department could lead to the criminal prosecution of technical campaign violations where there is no wrong in any moral sense.
