For S.F. Official, Legal Home May Be Where the Intent Is
San Francisco County Supervisor Ed Jew faces a double-pronged attack from the city attorney, who is trying to get Jew ousted from office for allegedly misrepresenting where he lives, and from the district attorney, who has charged him with perjury over the same issues. However, under election law, past court rulings from around the state indicate that whether Jew is in jeopardy of losing his seat on the board may be determined by his state of mind and intent when he ran for office.
