Oracle copyright ruling against Google stands, for now
Google Inc. has declined to petition the full U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit to reconsider an earlier panel opinion that found certain aspects of the Java computer programming language were protected under copyright law.

Google Inc. has declined to petition the full U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit to reconsider an earlier panel opinion that found certain aspects of the Java computer programming language were protected under copyright law. A Federal Circuit panel had determined in May that the "structure, sequence and organization" of 37 Java source code packages fell under copyright protection, in a victory for Java's owner, Oracle Corp. ...
