State high court reverses employee class action win, but plaintiffs see hope

An Alameda County judge mismanaged a wage and hour class action, the state Supreme Court ruled on Thursday in reversing a $15 million award to 260 bank employees.

An Alameda County judge mismanaged a wage and hour class action, the state Supreme Court ruled on Thursday in reversing a $15 million award to 260 bank employees.


But the high court handed plaintiffs a win on the use of statistical sampling that could lead to ultimate victory in this and other mass torts.
