Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Alleging Antitrust Violations in ATM Fees

Customers who sued a group of banks for antitrust violations related to ATM fees failed to show that they are effectively prohibited from switching banks to avoid paying the fees, a federal judge has ruled.

Customers who sued a group of banks for antitrust violations related to ATM fees have failed to show that they are effectively prohibited from switching banks to avoid paying the fees, a federal judge has ruled.

U.S. District Judge Charles R. Breyer dismissed the lawsuit Friday, but gave the plaintiffs permission to file an amended complaint.
