Busted U.S. Budget Means Better Plea Deals for Tax Evaders

Three non-lawyers who created and managed American Law Center, a Sacramento bankruptcy firm, have pleaded guilty to falsifying corporate and personal income tax returns. But because of the government's budget crunch, officials said, they caught a break on their sentences.
