9th Circuit Upholds Ruling Invalidating State Holocaust Law

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals struck down a California law Wednesday that was designed to help heirs of Holocaust victims recover artwork looted by the Nazis.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals struck down a California law Wednesday that was designed to help heirs of Holocaust victims recover artwork looted by the Nazis.

As a result, Marei von Saher can't use the 2002 law to recover two 16th Century paintings traced to a prominent Dutch art dealer who fled the Netherlands during the Nazi invasion. The paintings are on display at the Norton Simon Museum of Art...
