Roberts' First Case Is Significant to Labor Act

Letter to the Editor - It is simply not true that, as your Oct. 4 article about Justice [John] Roberts' first day of oral argument at the Supreme Court stated, that his "first case as a justice was not near the top of anyone's watch-list" because all it involved was the conflict between recent 9th Circuit ( Alvarez v. IBP ) and 1st Circuit ( Tum v. Barber Foods ) precedents as to the proper interpretation of the Fair Labor Standards Act as to compensable time issues.
