Small-Time Miners Have Big Stake in Environmental Case

SAN FRANCISCO - Clark Pearson concedes it may not have been the wisest legal strategy to threaten to sue a federal judge. But the soft-spoken Pearson - who, incidentally, is also accusing Attorney General Janet Reno of mail fraud and other federal crimes - says he just wanted someone to listen to his complaints about what he feels is an injustice being perpetrated on the public.
