Mattimore and Jean Amabile - No one was surprised when Santa Clara County Deputy District Attorney Dana Overstreet announced that the office intended to try 15-year-old Ryan Watts as an adult for murder in the killing of his father, John Bruner. In most jurisdictions, the juvenile justice system has been largely decimated by the passage of Proposition 21, which allows prosecutors to file cases directly in adult court against juvenile offenders as young as 14.
