A state appellate court Thursday upheld the conviction and life sentence of a man who killed a San Francisco police officer.
The case figured prominently in the race for attorney general when then-District Attorney Kamala Harris was criticized for refusing to seek the death penalty against David Lee Hill for shooting and killing Isaac Espinoza in April 2004.
