Palomar Medical Center opens new Escondido birth center

The new birth center includes 33 private labor and delivery and post-partum rooms, each of which has a dedicated family area.

A new birth center opened Thursday at the Palomar Medical Center (PMC) in Escondido.

The facility replaced the birth center at PMC's downtown Escondido location, which served expectant mothers and newborns for decades.
