Discussing Change and the Future

In a interview with Daily Journal staff writer Jonathan Vanian and associate editor Alexia Garamfalvi, Heller Ehrman Chairman Matthew Larrabee addresses the firm's commitment to its core practice areas, the partner departures and its strategic outlook.

SAN FRANCISCO - Change is afoot at Heller Ehrman, one of San Francisco's oldest and most established law firms. Sixteen partners have decamped in the past four months, and the firm laid off 65 administrative staff in the fall.
      Firm chairman Matthew Larrabee characterizes the departures as inevitable consequences of the changes the firm is making to capitalize on its comparative advantages and refocus on its strengths.
