Statute Interferes With Diplomatic Efforts to Resolve Nazi-Era Claims

Niblock - Over the past several years, California has pursued its own foreign policy by enacting legislation to encourage lawsuits dealing with events that occurred under the Nazi regime more than half a century ago. In the next few weeks, the U.S. Supreme Court will rule on the validity of one of those statutes - the Holocaust Victim Insurance Relief Act of 1999 in American Insurance Association v.
