First-Quarter Building Rises 10.5% in State

BURBANK - With first-quarter figures in for 2003, statewide construction volume totaled $15.68 billion, up 10.5 percent from the same period last year, according to the Construction Industry Research Board. By comparison, first-quarter totals in 2002 were down 10.7 percent from 2001, the first such three-month decline since 1998.
