Are Rent Increases Unfair?

One of our property managers recently received a call from a tenant complaining about the rental increase notice he had just received.

"Don't these ever stop?" he asked. "I feel like you're gouging us."

In addition, we're bombarded by articles and news reports about how apartment rents have "unfairly" increased, with one media outlet reporting that rents have increased 30 percent since 1999.
