Dems Brush Off DOJ's Qualms Over Crack Sentencing Reform

WASHINGTON - Democrats gave a cool reception Thursday to a Justice Department suggestion that Congress take action on the potential release of hundreds of offenders over the coming months as a result of changes made to crack-cocaine sentencing guidelines to address the 100-1 disparity between the punishments meted out for crack- versus powder-cocaine offenses.
