Oracle foregoes in Google case

Oracle dropped its statutory damages request so the trial is resolved and the company can pursue its planned appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Unless Oracle Corp. is able to get the trial outcome reversed on appeal, Google Inc. will pay no damages at all for copying nine lines of Java source code and eight test files used in its Android operating system.
