Defendant Gets Death in Police Ambush

RIVERSIDE - A judge has sided with a jury to decide that a defendant should die for killing a Riverside police officer two years ago. The case against Steven Woodruff was the second in the state to apply the U.S. Supreme Court decision banning the death penalty for mentally retarded murder defendants.
