Senate Fails On Campaign Bill, No Action Likely This Year

The bill was Congress' response to the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling that lifted restrictions on corporate and union independent expenditures during federal election campaigns.

WASHINGTON - Democratic senators failed to pass legislation Tuesday aimed at curbing the impact of January's blockbuster U.S. Supreme Court ruling on campaign finance.
