A federal judge is expected to decide this month whether state prosecutors in one of California's biggest public corruption scandals should have access to evidence seized in a federal search related to the matter.
Jeffrey Burum, a defendant in the so-called Colonies corruption case, filed papers Monday opposing the transfer of evidence seized in a 2011 search of his home and office.
