I read with interest Dan Lawton's comments on one of the fallacies inherent in the judicial philosophy known as "originalism." ["The elephant in the originalism room," April 17, 2017]. I agree with much of what Lawson wrote, except one of his conclusions - the one to the effect that the swearing in of any particular "well qualified" justice cannot threaten a calamity to our country or its people.
