Bid to Bar Using Voting Machines Fails

SAN FRANCISCO - Voter rights activists lost their bid to persuade a San Francisco judge Thursday to halt the use of electronic voting machines manufactured by Diebold, the Ohio-based company that was sued by California in 2004 for selling the state shoddy voting equipment.
