Mall Protesters Can't Be Turned Away

California shopping mall operators cannot discriminate against demonstrators by choosing who can and cannot protest a cause in front of a targeted store, a state court of appeal ruled Wednesday.

California shopping mall operators cannot discriminate against demonstrators by imposing different rules for labor protests and nonlabor protests, a state court of appeal ruled Wednesday.


Any protesters, no matter what their cause, must be given the same leeway as labor unions, according to the ruling, which reverses a trial court decision.
