Governor proposes $180M in new funding for courts

But Brown's $3.7 billion budget for the judicial branch didn't fulfill courts' wish list - they'd hoped for an increase of $612 million between 2014 and 2016. Nevertheless, Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye praised Brown's proposal.

SACRAMENTO - Gov. Jerry Brown's budget proposal Friday would give courts $180 million in new funding for the 2015-16 fiscal - roughly $20 million more than they received this fiscal year.
