City selects construction manager for Miramar water treatment project

Opened in 1962, the Miramar Water Treatment Plant provides drinking water to 500,000 customers in northern San Diego. The improvements project is scheduled to be completed in 2020.

Construction management and inspection services for the Miramar Clearwell Improvements Project will be provided by the Florida-based NV5 Global, Inc. for $7.4 million.

The project will entail the demolition of the existing clearwells and ancillary facilities, and constructing two new clearwells, a maintenance building and other structures. Once the existing storage facilities are combined, their capacity will increase to 58 million gallons.
