Loeb & Loeb: KYOCERA PURCHASES TYCOM, STAYS ON THE CUTTING EDGE
San Diego's Kyocera International Inc. has acquired Irvine's Tycom Corp. The value of the cash deal was not disclosed. Kyocera International is a subsidiary of Japan's Kyocera Corp. Originally a manufacturer of specialty ceramics, Kyocera International now makes a range of products from semiconductor casings to knives and utensils. It also makes cameras, liquid crystal display panels, printers and solar electric systems. Its Kyocera Wireless unit, formed after Kyocera Corp.
