District Forced Teacher Out, Lawyer Says

LOS ANGELES - A former Locke High School art teacher was forced out by the Los Angeles Unified School District because she encouraged the student union to protest deplorable conditions and unfair treatment at the poorly-performing inner-city campus, her attorney told jurors in closing arguments Wednesday.
