Nintendo Subsidiary Wins Big Cybersquatting Award

SAN FRANCISCO - Video game maker Nintendo Inc.'s American subsidiary has won one of the biggest multiple cybersquatting damage awards. U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Zilly, of the Western District of Washington, granted Nintendo of America's request for default judgment and awarded the company $560,000 in damages. Zilly also ordered the 22 defendants named in the suit to turn over 48 infringing Internet domain names to the company, including Pokemon-trader.com and Growlithe.com.
