Appeal Due In Decision On Shifting Tax Funds

An epic battle between local and state government over property tax revenues appears headed for the California Supreme Court. Following an appellate court ruling this week that state government need not reimburse cities and counties for shifting tax revenues to public schools, a Sonoma County attorney said a petition to the high court is "the next logical step."
