Passage of Proposition 36 Raises Troubling Questions

I supported Proposition 36, the initiative that mandated treatment programs for first-time drug possessors. It is a needed first step toward ending the criminalization of young people of color. Too many lives have been turned into fodder by the prison-industrial complex in California. If there is any way that people can escape such a fate, I am all for it.
