In Indonesia, All Contracts Are Onerous

BALI, Indonesia -- Like most Indonesian attorneys, Aloysia Trombine knew little about contract drafting when she started practicing law. When her firm handed her a stack of contracts, she had to learn quickly.

        The writer, a recent graduate of the University of San Francisco Law School, assisted this summer in the school's overseas program helping teach lawyers and officials in Indonesia and Cambodia about contracts, mediation and other legal subjects. This is the first of two reports.
