New road to justice is too long for some

In nation's largest county, some defendants choose guilt over trip to court.

A criminal defendant from Needles - a desert town on the outskirts of San Bernardino County - might have to catch a bus that travels through Arizona and Nevada to make a hearing at the closest courthouse in Victorville. All in all, it's a more than 150-mile voyage, one way.


Looking at the bus schedule, some might find it easier to just plead guilty.
