State Bar Court puts lawyer on inactive status for allegedly stealing settlement, lying to clients

A judge found that a Davis lawyer, Hal Erwin Wright, "engaged in continuous course of misconduct" that poses a "substantial threat" to clients and the public.

The State Bar Court has yanked a Davis lawyer's right to practice, finding that he appeared to have lied to clients and taken their money over a number of years.


In a 14-page decision, Judge Pat E. McElroy ordered Hal Erwin Wright placed on involuntary inactive status because "his conduct poses a substantial threat of harm to his clients and the public." In the Matter of Wright...
