Google to pay $260 million to settle shareholder suit over online pharmacies

A federal judge Wednesday said she was prepared to give the nod to a $260 million settlement resolving a shareholder lawsuit against Google Inc. for allowing online pharmacies to advertise illegal drugs.

OAKLAND - A federal judge Wednesday said she was prepared to give the nod to a $260 million settlement resolving a shareholder lawsuit against Google Inc. for allowing online pharmacies to advertise illegal drugs.


Google's actions already cost the company $500 million in a 2011 non-prosecution agreement with the U.S. Justice Department.
