Railroad company must pay $52.7 million in trade secrets theft case

A Florida-based railroad company must pony up more than $52 million for stealing trade secrets from a competing railway in Davis, a federal judge has ruled.

A Florida-based railroad company must pony up more than $52 million for stealing trade secrets from a competing railway in Davis, a federal judge has ruled.


U.S. District Judge Troy Nunley of the Eastern District of California increased the jury's verdict against Patriot Rail Corp. by adding more punitive damages to the March finding in favor of Davis-based Sierra Railroad Co.
