Activists Sue U.S. to Preserve Frogs' Critical-Habitat Status
In a suit filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court for the Northern District, in San Francisco, the Center for Biological Diversity attacked the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for eliminating 4 million acres of "critical habitat" land needed to protect the California red-legged frog.

SAN FRANCISCO - More than 140 years after starring in a Mark Twain story, the California red-legged frog again is jumping to the center of attention.
