Court tosses suit against utilities over wood preservatives leak

A federal appellate court Wednesday tossed a suit in which environmentalists claimed Pacific Gas & Electric Co. and Pacific Bell Telephone Co. violated the law by allowing wood preservatives on utility poles to leak into the San Francisco Bay during rain storms.
